Of songs and soulmates

Songs are powerful...very powerful. They have the capacity to inspire deep hidden feelings and stir up memories long lost.

They are memory capsules. When you listen to a song you love, you don't usually relive the song, instead you relive the memories and the circumstances when you heard the song that had affected you in some way.

There is this song: Robbie Williams - Angels. It was just another song for me until a fine day. It was just like any other day, except that I planned to attend a college fest and our band was supposed to perform in a western acoustics event. I went to the college and was chilling around when, on stage, this guy started performing an acoustic version of this song.

It was sounding very pleasant. Right at that moment; I saw the girl: She must have been an angel that had descended upon earth from the heavens, or so I felt! She was the most beautiful thing I had ever set my eyes upon. I had always loved this girl, but today the festive environment along with that song had put me into a trance upon seeing her. At that moment I wished that I could be with her; that she would be my soul mate. But I never made any move. She was in her own world with her own friends and probably barely knew I existed.

Nothing ever happened that day; but even to this day, whenever I hear that song, I am transported back to that day; her face and her smile still vividly burned into memory!

Death of a blog? (or rebirth???)

Yesterday i just happened to see an article (blogs falling in an empty forest) in dna that said-

'according to a 2008 survey, only 7.4 million out of the 133 million blogs had been updated in the past 3 months...that translates to 95% of blogs being essentially abandoned, left to lie fallow in the web where they become public remnants of a dream unfulfilled'

This article has inspired me a lot!
All these months my poor blog was lying the web portal, lost among the millions of unused blogs, craving for my views, my posts and viewer ship!

No...i will not allow my blog to rot in cyber hell....i'll bring about its revival, like a new phoenix that rises from its burnt ashes!!!

today marks the beginning of a new tryst with the world, of constantly opining about various subjects of interest!!

ergo, lo! here's the 1'st of my new posts!!! ;-)

Music

well, there are two kinds of people in this world- those that like metal and those that do not like metal.
i see no point in people not liking metal......i mean, they never even try to listen to it.
they never see the hours and hours of practice the musicians put to give a single show,
the years of hard toiling with the instrument to develop that talent?!

nope!!
all they see is if the song has nice beats and if the guy/gal is good looking etc.
I mean, the worth of a song is measured by the bpm and the amt of dressing!!!
is this what music's worth??

What would i not give to listen to a beautiful solo or a kickass riff from any guitarist??
metal is not all screeching, growling and screaming; you may say it is a medium of showing anger through music....its not all about leaving long hair and trippin off vodka...not about doping off for months!!

Its a medium of talking directly with your soul......why after a session of listening to metal, if i am in a very bad mood it actually lifts my spirits....the intricate solo works combined with the deadly riffs....ohh....there's nothing quite like it....nothing except maybe actually playing it.

It all starts with ONE song....that one song which will change your perspective of metal forever and will make you a metalhead!!
so for all you anti-metal ppl over there, i say this......start listening to metal music without any pre-judging and i'm damn sure you too will become metalheads!!
